Modern Deck Design

Modern Deck DesignWhen it comes to styles – either indoors or out, there are many different options to choose from, especially these days’ people are coming up with new styles every single day.  In a previous post we did Traditional Deck Design.  In this specific post we will be talking about Modern Deck design – one of my personal favorite styles to be honest.  Traditional tends to deal with lighter colors, everything matches, everything in pairs of 2, not a lot of bright colors, etc. Modern is completely different than Traditional Design when it comes to style, decorating and especially pool design in Greenwich.  When we start talking about modern, we talk about; simplicity – and I don’t mean simple as in boring!  We also start to talk about clutter free, lots of different architectural lines, technological items – you definitely won’t see this in a traditional style, you will also see a lot of stainless steel, warm leather colors like caramel, chocolate and black licorice in a modern style with things like warm wood colors and tones, glass and metal being used. The last thing we talk about when it comes to a modern anything is an open space – rooms or spaces usually aren’t cramped together in a 4 wall room, instead you will see a lot of flow from one area or one room to another without the use of being closed in with 4 walls in the way!  If modern sounds like something you would be interested in, chances are you will love the modern deck designs below.  Be prepared to be wowed! Traditional Deck Designs

Traditional Deck DesignsThe term traditional, whn it comes to any type of design, tends to mean that a home or style of decor is comforting and yet classic in style.  This doesn’t change when talking about pool renovation either.  You are still going to find things like tiles, wood, stone and furnishings that tend to be calm in nature – no you won’t be seeing any bright bold colors in a swimming pool design nor will you see anything that is mismatched.  Instead, you will find a lot of matched pieces, things like bushes, trees, tables or even light posts are going to be seen in pairs rather than odd numbers.  If you want some ideas on traditional deck designs, look no further than the ideas below. Swimming Pool Trends for 2015

Pool Trends for 2015Swimming pools have always been popular. In fact, Ancient Greeks and Romans even used swimming pools. Although they weren’t called swimming pools and weren’t for swimming, they were used for training and exercising! Farther down the line when modern people started building swimming pools for swimming, they started out really plain. You had white walls, white trim, white floors, white and blue tiles. Very blah. Then, people started creating, designing and manufacturing different pool materials like stones, and tiles of different colors, accessories for your pool and yard and more. Then, swimming pools became more than just something you swam in, they began to shape as something to entertain around – or in. Swim parties, outdoor BBQ parties with pool festivities, people playing volleyball and water polo in the water. If you have a swimming pool, chances are you don’t use it like the Ancient Greeks and Romans and chances are you want it to look attractive, beautiful, and colorful; you want the pool of your dreams! If this is the case, and you want to create a swimming pool or swimming pool area that screams uniqueness and beauty, check out the trends below to see what’s happening THESE days in terms of swimming pool design. Trends in Backyard Pool Decks

Backyard Pool DecksIt doesn’t matter who you are, where you live or what type of a swimming pool you have; presentation is everything. Pool decks have a few different benefits. First off, depending on the material you use, these pool decks are a great thing to use for safety – they usually keep you from sliding or slipping, which is especially important around the edge of the pool. Obviously things like marble are not going to be slip resistant, because when water gets on marble, it tends to get incredibly slippery. But for materials like travertine, flagstone and cement are definitely slip free. Second off, pool decks add beautify and style. Depending on the type of materials you choose you might have options such as choosing the sizes of the slabs/tiles, the colors, the designs, even the stamping of the materials. It’s a really awesome way to make the pool and the deck “yours” by customizing it however you want. Lastly, pool decks tend to keep your feet cool, which might not seem very important until you are in 100 degree weather and the area surrounding the pool feels like a kitchen skillet! With all of these different factors and benefits, who wouldn’t choose a pool deck?!? If you are interested in a pool deck or you want to know more about the different materials used, keep reading for pool construction trends in Stamford. Continue reading
